Where Did 2023 Go?
When December rolls around, I’m always surprised at how quickly the year has passed. 2023 was full of exciting exhibits, new releases, and international adventures. I'm grateful for every experience, big and small. Here are some of my favorite moments from the past year.
Bronze, I love you
I’ve been wanting to create my small sculptures in bronze for years. In 2023, I made it happen. In contrast to resin, metal has such a cold, heavy feeling. That's why I decided to make a cast of my Original Melting Pops™ sculpture in bronze. The Bronze Pop feels so statuesque, so monumental. It's everything I hoped it would be. Each piece is hand cast and the series is a limited edition of 10.
John Wayne Airport Installation
I was thrilled to have been asked to create an installation for John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA. Not all travelers have the time to stop and look at art, so I decided to create a color experience. As you walk past the showcases, you'll see a wave of colorful Melting Pops, reminding you of warm summer days. If you have the time to look closer, you'll see the meticulous details of each unique piece. No two are alike. Endless Summer is a sweet homage to Orange County’s year-round sunshine. This vibrant showcase will be on display from November 10, 2023 to March 10, 2024. All of the sculptures are for sale on my website.
The Art Haus, Bangkok
I have been working with La Lanta Fine Art for the past year. In that time, they not only exhibited my work in various countries, such as The Philippians, but they also opened The Art Haus in Bangkok. It’s such an honor to be represented in Thailand. From the food to the fabrics the Thai culture is full of vibrancy. It's a perfect compliment to my colorful sculptures.
Showing in my hometown
I love Palm Springs. It's a beautiful place to live and work, but rarely do I actually show my work here. It's a small town, after all. But this small town has a love for Pop Art. If you find yourself in Palm Springs you can find an ever evolving collection of my work Uptown at Trevor Wayne, 901 N Palm Canyon Drive.
More to come in 2024
While 2023 was thrilling, I've got so much planned for 2024 including a 6 month exhibit at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. I will be showing 6 huge sculptures, including a brand new design for an 8 foot tall piece! Stay tuned for more details...
